Here at Ledgard Bridge Boat Company Ltd we don’t sell boats to customers!

We build boats for customers!

We endeavour to work with the customer to build the boat they really want and deserve.

We can work with you and advise on all aspects of design and fit-out to build you the boat of your dreams. Our role is to advise but not dictate the specification of the boat we are building for you!

In order to produce a guide for you we have drawn up a standard specification, a boat built to this specification would give you a high quality hull completely fitted out and ready to sail away!

Choice of cruiser, traditional, semi-traditional and barge styles.

  • 10/6/5/4 steel specification -10 mm BS 43A mild steel on base, 6 mm BS 43A descaled mild steel on hull, 5 mm BS 43A de-scaled mild steel on cabin and 4 mm BS 43A de-scaled mild steel on roof.
  • Folded or tubular handrails depending on style of boat.
  • Steel aft hatches and lined steel forward and aft doors.
  • Aft deck with anti-pollution fuel filler, weedhatch and diesel tank below, (250 litres on traditional style, up to 400 litres on cruiser sterns). Steel safety rails with timber tops on cruiser stern.
  • Forward self-draining well deck with 125 gallon stainless steel water tank below.
  • Marine diesel engine - matched to boat from a range Barrus or Nanni diesel engines.
  • Control panel with charging, water temperature and oil pressure warning lights and buzzer, tachometer and hour counter.
  • PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox driven through a flexible R and D coupling or 120 box on smaller engines.
  • Victron Phoenix Multi compact 1200Kw/50Amp
  • Ebersacher central heating
  • Bow gas locker housing manual-changeover Corgi approved gas system.
  • BMEA approved installation including 12 volt DC distributed via trip board incorporating heavy duty trip for fridge supply. 240 volt input MCB trips and outputs. Landline input.
  • Choice of lighting switches & sockets.
  • Choice of lighting from the Cantalupi range.
  • 1 x 100 Amph carbon starter battery.
  • 2 x 100 Amph carbon domestic batteries.
  • Ballast - new concrete flags.
  • Cabin floor -18 mm WBP plywood.
  • Insulation - Websters polyurethane spray foam.
  • Woodworking - veneered boards/solid wood trim.
  • Anodes - 4 x 1.5 kg magnesium.
  • Underwater paintwork system Co Mastic.
  • Upperworks paintwork system - Sprayed QD Xylene Highbuild Primer/Undercoat, Top coat any choice of colour from the British Standard Colour chart in Delfleet 2 pack high gloss finish commercial vehicle paint.
  • Decks panels and side decks - non-slip paint.
  • Internal Varnish - Cuprinol Polyurethane Satin/Gloss.
  • Internal Vamish round doors and hatches - Cuprinol Exterior Polyurethane Gloss.
  • Fire fighting equipment - 3 x 2 kg dry powder, (2 on smaller boats), 1 x fire blanket.
  • Ventilation - roof vents with internal trims, door vents with inner covers.
  • Windows/ports - choice of finish and size.
  • Lighting - choice of roof and wall mounted lights.
  • Fire retardant, washable roller blinds in galley and bathroom.
  • Curtains1 throughout boat on brass or timber rails.
  • Commercial grade carpet2 throughout and/or vinyl in bathroom/galley.
  • Deck hardware - 2 bollards on aft deck, T-stud on forward deck, boarding plank and pole on rack central roof ring, anchor and fitting, life ring, tiller extension, button fenders forward and aft, tubular side fender fittings, horn and spotlamp.
  • Conformity to Recreational Craft Directive - CE marked with comprehensive Owners Manual.
  • Standard fitted areas include bedroom with sprung mattress, under-bed storage and wardrobe, bathroom including WC, shower and vanity unit, and galley including sink/drainer, gas hob, gas grill/oven, electric fridge and storage under work surfaces.

Additional cabins and fitted areas such as dinettes, bunk rooms, wet lockers are costed separately according to the specification.

Additional features include additional steelwork shaping and styling, wheelhouse, side doors with or without top hatch, forward deck seats/lockers, cratch and cover, additional shelves and cupboards, opening roof lights/hatches, additional windows in forward bulkhead and doors, installation of music/TV systems, washer/dryers, microwave ovens, Omnimax or FM aerials, enlarged water tanks, additional light fittings and sockets, brass pole and plank racks, brass fold down steps, interior stained glass panels and signwriting.

1 Curtains provided on standard number of windows allowed depending on boat length. Curtains for extra windows/ports to be costed separately. Curtain fabric based on plain or non-repeating patterned fabric. Customer to cover excess if choosing over-budget fabric or fabric with large repeat. Lining of curtains can be arranged at extra cost.
