We are full members of the British Marine Federation and take full advantage of the services that they offer to support both individual businesses and the British marine industry in general.

The British Marine Federation is the trade association for the British boating industry. The Federation's 1,500 Members account for a substantial amount of the industry's turnover and employ around 30,000 people. They are drawn from both the seagoing and inland sectors of the marine industry covering the leisure boat, hire fleet, commercial workboat and superyacht categories and supporting services. Our Mission Statement reads as follows:

We will create, develop and maintain high quality services, benefits and commercial activities to promote our industry and its products and work with our members to achieve profitable growth in home and overseas markets.

OUR SERVICES

The Federation offers a range of services to help Members build their businesses. These services include advice and financial support on exporting; information on technical, legal, commercial, statistical and environmental matters; training courses and grants plus careers and jobs. Additionally, central government is actively lobbied to ensure that new legislation benefits all interested parties in the industry.
 

THE BOAT SHOWS

Further substantial industry and member support is provided through the major showcases, the London and Southampton Boat Shows, which are organised by the Federation's wholly-owned subsidiary, National Boat Shows Ltd. These annual exhibitions also provide an opportunity to reach the public with important messages about career development and participation in boating. In a similar vein, the on-going Concept Boat competition encourages interest in boat design and our radio programmes, Making Waves, promote boating to the general public.
