We recently completed building a 57’ x 10’6” broad beam barge built with lottery funding for the Leeds based youth charity Serious Fun this 12 berth boat is equipped with a chair lift commercial catering style galley and class room/lounge area. In addition to the conventional tiller the boat is equipped with remote electro hydraulic steering enabling wheel chair uses to easily control the boat.

Serious Fun is a voluntary organisation involved in youth work in the Pudsey, Bramley and Rodley areas of west Leeds. They take young people climbing, sailing, canoeing and get them involved in all sorts of other activities they would otherwise not have the opportunity to try. They encourage them to participate at all levels in their groups, including making policy, arranging activities and, of course, taking part in them.
